چکیده
Background and Aims Environmental effects of global warming are leading to extended ripening seasons, which may either require or allow new vineyard management techniques. An innovative double-cropping technique is proposed for temperate climate areas. Methods Results The principle was maintain the primary crop as well obtain a second, late through release dormancy auxiliary buds during current season. Potted Pinot Noir vines were subjected two forcing treatments over 2 years: trimming all shoots at six nodes removing any developing laterals end flowering pea size stages. Vine growth, yield components grape composition monitored on both forced shoots. In second season, seasonal whole-vine gas exchange evaluated in detail. Forced carried 40–50% vine compared fruit quality greatly enhanced higher TA observed. Forcing reached similar net carbon dioxide rate per unforced Control about weeks following budburst. For remainder maintained much water-use efficiency than vines. Conclusions Detailed agronomical physiological evaluation years confirmed reliability without compromising pruning point selection next cropping year. Significance Study Future field application disclose that this able warrant crops potentially suited different wine styles within single

Influence of vine vigor on grape (Vitis vinifera L. Cv. Pinot Noir) and wine proanthocyanidins.
The relationships between variations in grapevine (Vitis vinifera L. cv. Pinot noir) growth and resulting fruit and wine phenolic composition were investigated. The study was conducted in a commercial vineyard consisting of the same clone, rootstock, age, and vineyard management practices. The experimental design involved monitoring soil, vine growth, yield components, and fruit composition (so...
متن کاملEnhanced Stilbene Production and Excretion in Vitis vinifera cv Pinot Noir Hairy Root Cultures.
Stilbenes are defense molecules produced by grapevine in response to stresses including various elicitors and signal molecules. Together with their prominent role in planta, stilbenes have been the center of much attention in recent decades due to their pharmaceutical properties. With the aim of setting up a cost-effective and high purity production of resveratrol derivatives, hairy root lines ...
متن کاملPinot blanc and Pinot gris arose as independent somatic mutations of Pinot noir
Somatic mutation is a natural mechanism which allows plant growers to develop new cultivars. As a source of variation within a uniform genetic background, it also represents an ideal tool for studying the genetic make-up of important traits and for establishing gene functions. Layer-specific molecular characterization of the Pinot family of grape cultivars was conducted to provide an evolutiona...
متن کاملThe Rhizosphere Bacterial Microbiota of Vitis vinifera cv. Pinot Noir in an Integrated Pest Management Vineyard
Microorganisms associated with Vitis vinifera (grapevine) can affect its growth, health and grape quality. The aim of this study was to unravel the biodiversity of the bacterial rhizosphere microbiota of grapevine in an integrated pest management vineyard located in Piedmont, Italy. Comparison between the microbial community structure in the bulk and rhizosphere soil (variable: space) were perf...
متن کاملShoot and Cluster Correlation Among Pinot Noir Clones
There are 43 clones of Pinot Noir currently published by the National Technical Institution for Viticultural Improvement in France (ENTAV) and over 75 selections from Foundation Plant Services (FPS) at UC Davis. Viticulturists speculate that there are anywhere from 200 – 1,000 genetic variants that may exist for any given grape variety. An important part of vineyard management is crop estimatio...
